2024 OFFISHALL Vancouver-Howe Sound-Sechelt Reports Thread

Fished by the North Arm today from 11-1 in 120-150 feet of water. First day fishing in a new to me boat, and unfortunately forgot the net at home. Bonked a 70cm marble feeder that I flopped over the gunnel, and boatside released a couple unders and several shakers. Hoochies and spoons performed equally. It was a bit lumpy at the mouth on the way out but good conditions otherwise.IMG_3736.jpeg

was out today dropped in at grace had double header off the bat and both came unstuck thanks to impart a stupid crew boat tinny out of east bay who decided it was a cool idea to wake us on full step just as we hooked up ... sadly no other hits

that sucks

Took the day off yesterday to try the sound for some prawns & (hopefully) a winter chinook. Trolled Atkinson for a couple hrs in the AM waiting for the pea soup to clear... it didn't. Just got worse. Couple shakers, jouvenile pacific cod/polluck and my buddy long-distance released a nice looking Chinook. Spit the hook at the surface. Green splatter hoochie. 180' in ~200FOW. Headed home early for lunch.

How did you do for prawns? I like how you called it "long distance release" when your friend....lost it. :)

Pushed off at Milltown at 8 and ran into 3 tugs pulling log booms blocking us off from the fuel dock so took the scenic route around them to fuel up. Dropped at the Bell just after 9 and started tacing east in 120 to 150 FOW zones. Great steady action in the sun hitting on all passes scraping bottom and by 10:30 we were pulling up lines to go catch lunch and a caesar with a 64cm, 76cm and 78cm in the box. The big ones were cookie cutter whites with empty stomachs. We had someone who rarely winter fishes in our party today who now thinks it’s always this good. Awesome day.
