2024 OFFISHALL Vancouver-Howe Sound-Sechelt Reports Thread

Yeah it was a bit of a summer vibe with all the boats at the Bell, minus the rain. Let the kid handle the rods today, 2 for 3, lost a screamer, and a few undersized. Stayed on bait in shallower 80-100’ west of the Bell, 55-95 on the rigger. Trailhead skinny G x2 all day.

It's good that we're all getting out catching fish.
Only 70 more days until "No fishing for Chinook". Crazy fishing for 62-84 cm fish in December!
Can't say I've experienced that type of quality in December for decades.

The part that really smarts is how ridiculous April and May are probably going to be. Sounder was lit with lots of nice fish. Better off that we don't know how good it will be

Spoke to someone who fished Thrasher-Grande today for kicks and it was lights out for fish to 15 pounds on any piece of tackle you fished with or without flasher.

Crabbing should have been lights out but the usual best spots were cleaned out. Hmmmm, lots of cork floats out there. 365 days a year commercial fishing will do this. :/

Great job but isn't there a rule about running the same gear on both rods? Lol

winters will eat anything green glow you put infront of their noses, could be a bottle cap. A stripe of orange , or a red tail on the spoon makes 0 difference imho, same as teasers , only thing that makes a difference in UV, Glow or chrome.

on that note i feel the same way about flashers

Appreciate the insights, that same flasher as A-a-Ron showed is one of my go-to choices in the summer as well. I often run a G-Force No-Bananas spoon behind it.
All these reports are going to make it hard for me to wait for the end of February to uncover the boat.

Superstitions galore on the boat , just not with gear. Only odd numbers on the rigger , and you have to call the correlating NHL players number no matter how obscure . Always dip the net before first fish , always step on boat right foot first !
I’m over 60 so my daily checklist is already too long to remember everything lol.
I do always end my downrigger depth with a 9 though, 99 for 100, 129 for 130 etc..
