Fished opening day- started at QA what was great on Saturday late morning- was a slow start second guessing my decision to stay away from the herd then starboard side was absolutely hammered by a pig.
I fought it to the surface about 40-50 feet back of the boat and was pretty much freaking as it was the biggest chinook I have had on in a long time… the adrenaline was definitely pumping, and I feel like I probably lightened up a little bit too much on the fish instead of horsing it straight to the boat and in a flash, it was like a subtle head turn and the hook popped- !?$#%
Moved back south a couple K for another troll with the wind and managed to blunder another pair. OMG, some kind of weird juju on the boat. Ended up winning and losing on some pinks and then finally ended up further south of T 10 and managed a couple decent Chinook couple wild Cohoes, couple socks and a few more pinks finished up with a long troll back to the harbour was just pink at that point really weird day for me But all in all ended up a great day!
