Vancouver Saltchuck?

There are some springs around... and other fish but it's not "hot" by any stretch of imagination. I fished Friday eve and the boat found a small spring, a Coho..and some other fish. I fished Sat. morning and found a 12 lb Spring, and some small fish. Saturday afternoon was much better...we were into 9 legal fish...Pinks and Springs---2 were definitely big ones. Fished Sunday afternoon and we we bonked a 34 lb Spring and toyed with 2 other legal fish.

Getting into 10 legal fish I would call "hot" in one day especially a couple large along with a twelve locally.Getting into three species of salmon as we did is nice as well.Our boat was definately hitting a lot of fish saturday but I was not fortunate enough to have a wack at it sunday as well.Go get em![]

Hopefully these fish don't keep us waiting 3-4 more weeks....
It's inconsistent out there right now...

We took a buddies boat out for a late cruise around Ladner area last night. Lots of fish surfacing and some small boats with nets. I'm guessing sox and pinks and natives .
Gonna try and get out Thursday, looks like there are some nice sized fish close to home!

Wow what a difference from our last trip out in the harbour to the one today.Last saturday we were having good action all day today{friday} we fished 12.5 hrs and did not have a hook up!!? We started out early morning at the Bell Bouy marking lots of bait and fish then moved to the cap mouth and finished off our day back at the Bell. A couple off hits on anchovy is all we had! Stripped the anchovy at the tail-shoulda had trailer hooks and may have got them. Had a few pop offs with not a mark on the chovy as well-weird.The coho were not hitting our killer spoons nor were there any signs of pinks!! We did see a few fish picked up at the cap mouth- small coho or pinks. Heard of a spring or two lost.My bets would be on the fraser mouth now. I did here of some fish over there as well as a few quality hook ups.It definately was not our day![B)]

Got to be one of two things, no one is out or everyone is out catching fish and me like a dummy is waiting for reports ! [:0]

On the water at first light...right at sand heads. Got a nice sock on a chovie at like 6:30...then I had a beauty on...even dusted my knuckles before I lost him. Buddy had a nice spring in the boat...1/2 inch shy. The charters were hitting them at the T10. Ran down but no luck...lots of sharks around. Ran to bowen for some Ice and beer, Rafted up in cowards cove for an hour or so...got a call from a boat that landed a 40 from between the QA and QB...persitence pays off! Trolled back to the mouth...long freaking day with not much luck, but a beauty day on the water.
I think Jimbo, we were having the same thing happpen to us...pop offs and hard rod dips with no sign of action...but lots of red crap on the gear...like some kinda jellyfish, at least that is what we were calling them.
Off to Alouettte tomorrow to tow the kids around on the tube, but will be back for monday...I think the wife and I will run over to thrasher and see what is going on...you in Brisco?

I haven't been out for weeks because I broke the leg on my boat. Thanks to some quick service and a few thousand bucks I was back on the water today. I fished from 2 til 6:30pm.
My first hit was so hard that I thought it was a seal. I played it for about 5 minutes til I hit my knuckles on the reel. That was enough to snap the line.
I tied up a new rig and trolled for hours with nothing....til about 5:30pm when I hooked and landed a nice little spring.
Put the gear back down and 10 minutes later I hooked into a lunker near Ambleside, after 6 unsuccessful attempts with the net I grabbed it with my hand and pulled it in.
I'll try and post a pic of the damage that it did to my hand.
If I can get up early I'll be out again tomorrow.

Thanks for that report Salmon smoker, and congrats on the fish. Maybe we don't have to go across, if the water is crappy we can do Ambleside. Any reports from Thrasher ?

Heading out tomorrow, thinking off crab pot bay.I will be heading out of steveston, any reports would be grrrreat! I am sure seeing a lot of net boats in the lower river, I wonder if we will get a crack at the socks?

Here's my plan for tomorrow, if water is decent I will head to T-10 and troll to Sandheads. Crappy water and I will try the Cap area. I haven't got any reports worthy of blowing 100 in fuel to fish Thrasher.
