Ucluelet/Tofino Shore Fishing August

I’m going to be staying in Ucluelet the first week of August and planning on doing a lot of shore fishing. Would love to get into some salmon from shore and would like some advice on the buzzbomb and zinger fishing up there. Do people ever target halibut from shore in that area? Thanks for the advice and look forward to visiting BC, here are a couple photos from Northern California.

Subscribed. Heading to Tofino in early July and I'm going to bring an inflatable but might do some shore casting as well.

If the weather is very calm and you are an excellent swimmer and wear a life jacket, the point due west of wild pacific trail marker on this map might be worth casting off for springs? Might be some ling and rockfish there too? Hopefully a local or someone will chime in. Check with navionics for depths etc.

Just be dam careful, a member lost their boat near there last year on the rocks. The waves can be insane, and a friend of mine I was talking to lent his boat out two weeks ago to someone who didn't wear a lifejacket and they haven't found his body. Sorry to be a downer.

Gone fishing in Port Alberni is the closest fishing store, I believe but the local co-op might have some cheap combos? A local might chime in. I'd bring my own gear as you have to pay 12% tax on everything here.

Thanks for the great advice, and warning about the dangers of fishing the area. No matter how seasoned you are, you need to talk to the locals about local conditions. I’ve fished off coastal rocks more than 99% of people on this board, but your warning is making me second think that spot and I appreciate you taking the time to make it public knowledge on this forum.

Any locals want to chime in on what to expect?
