Hi Guy , been awhile since I moved to Saskatchewan to fish Walleye and stuff
But I purchased a Garmin ultra 2 10inch with livescope 106, 34.
This would be a great unit to track down salmon especially and was wondering if any of you on the saltchuck have one set up on your boat.
You truly can't beat it for any fish tracking in 150 ft of water and 140 feet in front of ya !

So you use in it in lakes in Sask? I wonder if salt water performance and current would affect the sonar picture.

I don't know but ya , I use it to scout out fish and it's fantastic ! I troll out while doing a 360 view and see fish from the top down to usually 70 feet (but has capability to 150ft) and 140 ish feet out,. I was just thinking it would work great on the salt chuck to find schools of salmon . A bit expensive at $5k (on sale can pick up for $3.5k ish) but unreal capability. Was just wondering if anyone is using it ??

I have bot the 34 and the 62XR, the 34 for lake trout is good to about 100-120 ft, don't see the jig much past 90'. the XR has been great at depths. It was designed for salt water use as for the 34 was more for fresh. I would say based on the 62 specs showing 500' in fresh and 300' in salt water for range if you take the 34 and go for at best 60% of its fresh water range you would be good for a range of 90'. I would be surprised if you could get that but in shallow waters 60' or less I would say you have a far better chance of seeing things. I am hoping to use my 62 this up coming season for bottom fishing and for client entertainment. Would be a great tool and for those tech clients could be something to keep them entertained.

I'm thinking fishing for salmon at the mouth of the frazer , socks and Chinook, it would be the cats meow. Or Sockeye at China Creek especially. I sold my boat in BC so if someone wanna invite me to test it out 😄 🤣 😂
