Do you know who I owe i beer to? There was this one thread… can’t remember by who. This gentleman took a 2 week trip up North and posted his experience , with his dog I think? Don’t know about the dog, but his story of hitting bad weather the whole trip and being anchored at night spinning round and round hoping his shackles don’t break,The sportfishing bc boat design. Wow what a trip, I been thinking about that story for a long time and planning a trip like that( in better weather LoL) . I don’t remember who posted that but sure would like to know and buy them a beer
Yeah without dropping the deck it's not possible. I looked at doing it but the difference in height made the window usless and there was nowhere for a helm to go. Dropping the floor is a game changer.Genius! I Love it
Windows getting installed
That’s up there in best ideas with dropping the deck
Check smith plywoods in SlurreyI might play around with some teak, that batch I found the other day is beautiful imo, and the price is still ok ish, for these days
I believe 120 for a sheet of 3/4 teak.
I have been quoted up to 240 bucks for one sheet of teak. Prices are all over the place
That’s it I think! I’m going to read that tonight with the wife. Re building this boat I been thinking about that story all the time…I think you are talking about Sharphooks. He has written about a few of his adventures north.
NORTH COAST CRUSADE PART I
Crusade is a strong word, but my trip to North Coast this past month indeed felt like a crusade. Last summer was an arrow in my heart. Tied to a dock with a new-to-me boat, a pandemic wedged between me and my annual trip north to the Promised Land....a bitter pill to swallow for a guy who...www.sportfishingbc.com

Date with beers. Two birds, one stone....After this I owe the wife a date first before any beers gentlemen!

She might have to settle for a cold night in the rain in mid AprilMaybe by January next year you can take her to see the phosphorescent and the stars in the gulf islands
Thanks so much! These stories are going to make me want to build this boat fasterThis is another one of his expeditions
NORTH COAST EXPEDITION PART I
Back in early July I was fit to be tied—-I’d left my boat in Nanaimo after two trips to Barkley Sound and now, my local spring season had just started and I didn’t have access to my boat! I put up with that for a week then finally couldn’t take it anymore...throwing caution to the wind, I...www.sportfishingbc.comNorth Coast Expedition Part II
THE SCENERY Part of “pacing” yourself when biting off a chunk of time this long is knowing when to get off the water and do something else. Having a puppy to contend with makes that easier because she’ll drive you stark raving mad if you cheat her of her beach time. I spent a lot of time...www.sportfishingbc.comNorth Coast Expedition. THE FISHING....THE BAD An interesting month of fishing it was——I did fine on my way north but revisiting the same spots on the way south (once I had gone into non-C&R mode) was a sobering experience. Because I had used the spoon so hot and heavy I had some bait that was getting mushy and I...www.sportfishingbc.com

North Coast Expedition
I approach chinook fishing in the salt chuck the way I approach steelhead fishing in rivers: It's more rewarding to me to catch 4 steelhead in 4 new spots then catch 10 in a spot that I might have to share with 30 of my BFF's, each in their own boat. With that in mind, this summer I...www.sportfishingbc.com
