Been ages since I posted any catch report on here as I'm more focused on personal social media posting and also quite involved in fisheries politics via PFA and volunteer work with Cap Hatchery/VSFGA net pen project, sampling for Fisheries and pushing for MSF. I have provided a link below to the thread on SRKW proposed expansion of fishing closures (and duration) on this SFBC site just in case anyone here has not seen it yet.
Extremely important to be informed on what could happen if push back is minimal on this. Be part of the solution or this Fraser River mouth/Sand heads fishery and other proposed SRKW closure expansions, fishing access will be a thing of the past for the public. I will be adding some information there next week on what can be done as well as info on a PFA Town Hall Meeting planned on the SRKW proposed closures just as soon as its confirmed

Now for the report:
3 days old (Oct 8th) but could still be similar as any new fish trickle in. I fished mostly much father out from Sandheads West/NW green can out in 500-600ft of water at 55-100' mostly. In closer was slower. Ran into some amazingly active schools of coho with 10-11 coho to boat and also lost several more. Mostly wild but I was very carefully doing dna samples of a few of the coho for Stock Assessment/DFO. 3 chinook although only 2 were good size ( one lost and other an undersize 55cm feeder released after sampling) . 10-3 so not 'lights ou't by any means but very active at times. At one point a triple header of coho. Jumbo 8-9" herring best ( both flasher and no flasher); 6" chovy and glow hoochie also got fish.
