2025 OFFISHALL Vancouver- Howe Sound-Sechelt Fishing Reports Thread

08GA031 is Capilano River At Canyon, and is located downstream/below the dam. At the hatchery.
If anyone is interested.
On the government website it looks like capilano river level jumped from 0 to 2.4 meters today. Does that mean that all the salmon will have migrated up now? In other words, poor fishing along west Van/cap river mouth? Thx!

Headed out for the afternoon water was almost flat.
We got delayed and unfortunately didn't get our lines in the water until around 1:30 pm and found out from a friend that they had some great action starting at noon with two springs in the boat.
We had steady action from around 2:00 to 4:00 and then it died off. Unfortunately most of it was on chum boxing 3 nice chromers which will throw in the smoker and one 65cm spring. We had probably another 8 bites that didn't sick and didn't appear to be springs. Lots of action all around us but not seeing any epic fish. Did speak to guys coming in while launching that had a number of springs in the morning so there's still fun to be had!😎
Most everything I heard about being caught was in the 70 ft to 120 ft range on the downriggers and 180 to 280 FOW.
I even broke out an old army truck hoochie that I haven't heard talked about for years and we caught one of The Chum on it.
White hoochie and anchovies were the other successful gear. Nothing on the cop car spoon.

I dont know. Only one way to find out! I would assume many fish would swim in, but it's not like a bunch of people getting on the 10 o'clock bus. Fish are already in the river, a bunch went in with the flow onclrease, but i would suspect more are coming. If someone has the historical data in regards to run timing at the Capilano, I would suspect that would be the better thing to look at.

Increase i meant.

Two minutes after dropping the gear at East Bowen on one of the ferry lines heading to Apodaca, a 6 1/2 pound Coho hatchery right away, just released. its twin that was not hatchery.

A caution to the boaters, I think with all that heavy rain that the wood and crap from up the rivers is now out here in the ocean. Lots of small dead heads and scrap wood. Luckily, it’s fairly calm and they are noticeable.

My wife told me the anchovies in the fridge needed to stop staring at her, so I had to get out one more time. Put in the morning shift at Sandheads.

One chinook, one hatchery coho. Both at 75’ out in deeper water, around 250’.

Tried the hero tack to the green can and many other tacks and didn’t scratch up anything else.

Probably a few good bites at first and last light to be had. If you can go, go now.

We dropped lines today at T 10 say around 10 AM. Not a sniff. Dead quiet for two hours. Lots on the screen, but nothing biting. We saw a few other people bringing in fish, but not us. Then we went to the north arm and got some coho action right away with the anchovy near the bottom about 160 ft. Nothing retained today.
