Looked at the weather coming at us… Had to get out this afternoon. Lines down at sandheads a bit before three. Worked it hard in my regular areas.… Not a lot of love. A handful of big wild coho and a couple of small springs. Running three different bait rigs, stacking on one side… Working hard.
Not a lot being caught around us but I did see two or three good springs getting boated. All on short leaders… Had to be hootchies! It’s getting close to sunset now, so time to change it up. Threw it down to 87 and within five minutes we have a nice big chunky spring on the line. One of those 17 pounders that looked to be in the 20s… Short and fat. Put it back down, another one in the boat. Two more long line releases in the next 20 minutes…
Then we start to get some texts from the spouses…time to go!
