2025 OFFISHALL Vancouver- Howe Sound-Sechelt Fishing Reports Thread

A little late, but Sandheads yesterday 7am to 2:30. One white chinook or herring over a dummy flasher. A few hits i think were pinks. Was using large herring. And a beauty hatch coho on a Fishinator plug. Not too deep either fish. Chinook at 80'. Not that busy over all for us. Great to be out fishing though.

I'm guessing the chinook are being caught deeper this year?
I’m going tomorrow with a couple of friends. I’m going to fish close to the mouth of the river as that has been hot for me every year. Anyway, I will tell you if they’re in the usual 45 to 60 feet of water where I get them in versus the guys that are obviously fishing the outside lines and going 120 deep.

Yesterday 2 PM till sunset SH.
We got only 1 pink and lost some very big nook, released two wilds coho. Ended up with one pink, pulled rods and downriggers up and were about to leave but it turned to pink madness and the fish was jumping in thousands.
Long story short, by buddy just sat on a bow with landing net and got 7 more pinks who just hopping in to the net. One of the pinks just flew in to the boat. Never though it's real but it is. I was laughing so hard.

Out early today. Lost one and one in the boat fairly quickly out deep and 105’ on the wire. Then quiet for a few hours. Decided to move in shallower and got three more in 45 mins. 100’-130’’ fow and 84’ on the rigger all on bait.
In shallower, what were the colours of the three that you caught?

had a strange day wild ho's and pinks so all released tried inside then outside odd hits here and there came back in on the green can had a double header of springs passed the rod to buddie which he lost and boxed a 15lb marble .... both on white hoochies .... so decided just to run 2 rods rather than stacking 4 and then it went quite trolled to the outside then midday the Orca's showed up so we headed to T-10 dropped the lines in there and was getting nothing on the green white hooch so put a pearl white down within 5 mins gets a good hit and turns into a scrap and a half,,,,, long story short lost a big hog mid to upper 30's....after about 15-20 mins . popped the leader as my buddie was trying to net it ...... so that ended our day before we headed back in ... till next time and a apology to the boat that came in on us dont think they knew we had a large fish on ........

Fished the opening day and limited on red spring at T10 in 250’ of water. But been traveling since then and heading back to town Saturday evening. Hoping the winds allow to fish Sandheads or at least T10 on Sunday. If I can’t get to T10, how the marker and Bell been doing lately? Appreciated Any updates.

Fished SH today 3 reds 1 marble , 2 huge wild Ho’s Chrome bars ( released) 2 more springs to the boat , and a chrome chum ( second one in 2 days) released. And a sh.. ton of pinks. Big pod of orcas one big male did a couple of side breeches cool to see … all spring on hoochie @ 75” had to change to target clean pinks as we hooked 2 more spring. Feed pink $$ in bait then skinny -G kept them interested.

Fished Sandheads 7am to 1pm yesterday. Maybe 150 boats at Sandheads. 3 rods with spoons hoochies and one rod with anchovy. 47-87’
Early action on hardware and the bait came thru just after low tide. Had 10 chinook on for the day including some long releases, short releases, some gear failure and a netting fail.
Also a coho and sockeye in water release. And…the pinks.
Super flat awesome day yesterday with the smoke keeping the heat down. Kept 2 whites hooked on gear and 2 reds hooked on bait.

First time trying my ‘new’ 90s setups that I just put together. Ugly stick 10weight fly rods 9’5” with the smaller Shimano Moocher 1000 reels, 20 lb line. Replaced original drag washers with greased carbon fibre washers so the drags and adjustment are suuper smoooth.
Dummy flasher and spoon on the bottom and 8” flasher and bait on top.
I love messing with old gear :-)
