Managed to scrape up one keeper out of several just unders at Grace today. Fished from 1-3:30. Didn't get a single hit after 2:15. Another gorgeous day. I'll be leading the fleet over to Thrasher tomorrow.View attachment 114183Beautiful day over at thrasher. We got these four at the tide. (Largest 10 lbs) Green hootchies 221’on rigger 200’ fow. Lost 3 other beauties at the boat and multiple gaff releases of just unders. Thx Ben for showing us the spot, I owe you one for sure. Will definitely be hitting the spot tomorrow at tide again.
I thought that was you! Love your boat. I was yelling at @AndrewH who was trying to follow me aroundso that was You RC giving it the loud shout-out with the kids ..... well done just under's for me today
I'll either start there, or end there if I'm not all over fish right away somewhere else in the area.Anyone fishing Defense? Taking the boy out for our inaugural winter spring attempt.
I’ve slayed fish in front of McNabb Creek before, can’t remember the time of year though..I'll either start there, or end there if I'm not all over fish right away somewhere else in the area.
Oh you know what's funny, I thought you said Entrance. I was wondering why the hell you were taking about Mcnab. I'm an idiot. So the answer is no, I won't be at Defense. I'll be around Thrasher. Also yes, Mcnab holds fish, I like in shallow right off the reef better though.I’ve slayed fish in front of McNabb Creek before, can’t remember the time of year though..

I did! All our action was on a hoochie behind a purple haze flasher. 200 on the rigger and things dried up around noon.Did you end up hitting Defence?
we shared the same success. We were a bit deeper in 180 FOW on spoons w a dummy flasher. It was worth the trip for us over to Thraser today. Water was great as was the fishing and prawning . Spoons near the bottom in 120 FOW.
Right on! Great picture. Looks like you were on the west side closer to Defence? Thanks for the info!I did! All our action was on a hoochie behind a purple haze flasher. 200 on the rigger and things dried up around noon.
Yeah you got it. We sailed through the few boats that were there at dawn but didn't see any bait until we got out of the wind. Also a slightly falling tide which seemed to concentrate them along that back edge. Once the tide started rising everything found a new home.Right on! Great picture. Where abouts did you try TMan? Last year (March) I trolled that point between bedwell bay and jug island and got a 17lb spring on a 602 4" Tomic plug. He hit within 5 minutes of getting the line wet. So naturally I tried all the rest that day, all next day, and a day or two later and got nothing before giving up on the area.I went prospecting up Indian arm/deep cove. Not very much feed. I think we had a small one on....like very small...checked the hook and nothing. I may try it again someday. But my curiosity is now satisfied.

We tried a number of spoons without a tap, but it could have also been that it was the top rod on our stacked rigger...
