2025 OFFISHALL Vancouver- Howe Sound-Sechelt Fishing Reports Thread

I think you might be correct. That being said, I accept Rain City’s challenge and will go out this Saturday and see for myself. Looks like good conditions for a smooth crossing. I’ll share any details of interest. I was out at Seymour Bay this past weekend and didn’t even get a sniff, so I’m definitely due!
They're on structure all over the coast. The Herring are here!

lol yeah I was just kidding, good luck

Gonna try heading across tomorrow. Fished Thrasher a couple weeks ago with good success but have only fished entrance once and got skunked. Anybody have any Intel on the standard tack and depth for entrance? I know a lot of guys fish deep over there.

On the outside of the reef there’s a trench 200-220’ deep, before it shallows again a bit (to 170’) then drops right off. Work that trench near the bottom.

Managed a quick fish today. Got out there around 11. Marker 2 area. Released 4 undersized, lost a few more that I’m sure were under but managed to get a nice one dragging bottom with a black glow flasher and glow cop car. Dropped a couple crap pots and got 4 keepers. Overall a pretty sweet outing. Wish my boat was big enough to cross to thrasher area!!!

Launched at Vanier. Pricey tho!!! $32. Yuck. Most launches are going up in price. Prolly the tariffs 🤣
We fished between marker 2 off UBC and the bell buoy. Mostly around marker 2. It’s a jet boat I’ve got so only a 9 degree hull. It doesn’t like waves much haha.

Crossed over to the other side today taking a couple newbies out with us. This was the first time I’ve ever fished with a plug and it way out performed anything else. Picked up a WCFT 6” mother of pearl at Poco Marine the other day to try it out. Not sure what I was doing but tied the main line directly to the bar above a false knot and then put it back 50’ before attaching to the clip. No dummies. The biggest was just over 20lbs. And 247 prawns after a two hour soak made it a great day. We had to tell our friends this was not normal. About a dozen other boats who also seemed to have nets out and leaving early. I think the bigger fish are showing up now.

You want price pain, try launching in Port Moody. She's even more.....then you have to burn the fuel to get out to the harbour. But......it's worth it!.... I just like to grumble.
