2024 OFFISHALL Vancouver-Howe Sound-Sechelt Reports Thread

They are hitting everything. Shallow… under 70’ for sure… 30-50’ seemed good… some at 20’! The tyee pulled a coho move and took the hootchy off the clip near the surface as I was about to check it for weeds/shaker! A couple were on big herring, a couple on anchovies, a couple on white/UV hoochies. Absolutely no weeds and no shakers… a bit lumpy but got better. Back at the dock at 11… will rest up for tomorrow!
No pictures??!

So you're saying it's slow😜

How busy is Captains Cove boat launch ?
It was crazy busy. Parking way up the street. At the low tide nothing moving at the ramp of course. I got to the marina at 5:50 this morning and it was packed. Fortunately I have our boat in the marina so was easy for us. We were at the green can at 6:40 and limited by 9:45ish with yours truly losing maybe 6 fish. Big runs and then flip flops and fish gone. Was pretty snarly early around the green can area. I should add that all of our action was on chovies. Maybe with so many fish around for now hootchies or spoons would work well enough? I’ve always used chovies at Sandheads unless I run out!

Captains Cove launch was a parking lot at 3:30 this afternoon. My friends wife couldn’t get past the trucks and trailers and into the boatyard.

Biggest kept was 25 lbs. Got video clips of the tyee fight… 31-35 lbs is my guess cause it was a carbon copy of my 36er from last year. Lost a couple STRONG Chinook after limiting out while fast-trolling shallow hoochies and a bucktali looking for a hatchery coho.
