Not my favourite dish but when dinner is made for you, smile and say thank you. Hali and Coho, previously frozen of course. Maybe a slightly sweet or vinegary sauce?

Turkey stroganoff for dinner

Coho from Nanaimo, spottails from Barkley and Ikura from sandheads - some of the best sushi we’ve made yet. Tried a few varieties of low salt soya sauce and our fav was kikkoman sushi and sashimi soya sauce, it has a touch of sugar which I’m not excited about but taste damn good.

Found a decent patch of lobster mushrooms yesterday, about 100’ from my front door.

Made a nice lobster mushroom bisque with a little smoked salmon tossed in.

Spring salmon cakes made from meat scraped off the bones. Mix in an egg, some mayo, dill, celery, green onions, lemon juice, salt, pepper and some lemon pepper. Mix in a little bread crumbs then coat with bread crumbs and fry in olive oil. Served with hash browns, broccoli, edamame beans and cucumber salad.

Found some chanterelles alongside the driveway today. Ravioli with them tonight, smoked salmon ravioli for my wife who won’t eat mushrooms. The end of last years sauce with some fresh Parmesan on top. A ton of work but nothing beats homemade stuffed pasta.

Uncooked and cooked photos of marbled versus white Chinook tonight. The amount of back fat (are we allowed to use the word back fat?) in the white Chinook is quite noticeable.
