When you only have one steak. Thai beef salad with mint, basil, chives from the garden, topped up with some romaine. Dressing is lemon juice, fish sauce, brown sugar, birdseye chili, pureed garlic and lemon grass. Extras vary; pea pods and cherry toms, this time. Have used red onion, steamed asparagus tips, green onion, whatever really.

Killer riesling from a new Naramata producer, big sugar and acid just like the salad. Thai food would have conquered the world years ago if they had wines like this.

What to do with leftover pheasant?
Create a nice creamy white wine sauce (with lemon & garlic) to mix it with, pour over linguine, dust with parmesan and serve with cheesy garlic toast!

So many childhood memories of grilled cheese and tomato soup.

When I grew up I had no idea that grilled cheese and tomato soup went together so well. It wasn't until my now wife and I started dating in high school that I found out how great they go together. My mother in law had a strict 4 cracker only rule though. Today grilled cheese and tomato soup is a staple in our house but we don't judge you for how many crackers you take lol.
