the strap is a hard vinyl rub rail that was available in the time period the boat was built.I built a 35 foot fiberglass commercial boat in 1990 and went to the Seattle boat show that year and saw a boat with that rub rail and was able to go to the builder in Bellingham and buy enough to do my boat.Worked very well to protect the edge from wear and tear and was malleable enough when heated to follow the curve of the hull and bend around the stern. Drilled and bolted on. Don't know if it is still available. Cheers

Looks like you're right up on the bow when you're in the cabin. Would be unpleasant in the chop without suspension seats but that's a nice deck out back.

Believe it says full eisenglass enclosure which seems like a cockpit canvas. Has the rail on the rear of the roof and the anchor locations at the stern for a full cockpit canvas.Log into Facebook

2006 C Dory 22' cruiser Price drop to 55k usd with new engines and electronics in 2023. Be nice to see a windlass and cockpit canvas at that price but new engines should give her close to 4mpg at cruise 20-25mph maybe more.
Good eye. The canvas was a 5k usd option 5 years ago and would be perfect for days like today, it is bucketing, but I’m doing full rain gear as we are trolling and Prawning.
You are out right now???? Crazy hard rain here in Nanaimo. Not sure a bilge pump would keep up with it, lol.
Sun broke out when we loaded the boat back up, one 7 inch crab and some nice size prawns.
