I have one of those. It lives outside. It does vibrate a bit. I wonder if that is a breaking point just waiting to happen.

Yikes. I’ve got those as well. Several years old. Always concerned about the torque on them and fatigue. Maybe time to get new ones.

being so high up and the extension must create alot of stress on that bottom point of the extension in time im sure will fatigue and eventually snap

I had a Scotty rod holder let go recently too. Rod and reel by by. Mine was the black plastic one that comes with the rigger.

The Scotty 247 dual rod holder works very well too. No knuckle to give it a weak point.

Don’t! Almost lost my setup to one few years ago. Line was deep in the clip and saved the day. I only trust the one that Aquaholic posted.

Yes, the knuckle seems to be the weak spot, not just on that extended arm.

I love the extension arms and the orca holders, but after two seasons the extension arms are showing some permanent twisting in them and I just can't trust them going forward. So I bought the Njord holders for Christmas and will put those on shortly. Maybe hit the water tomorrow and drag gear around.
