That fishery has a robust hatchery population separate from the upper Fraser runs

Poked my head out to check the bell buoy today in the calm.

Fished 11:30 to 2:30. 6 undersized to the boat. Hit fish anywhere from 185’ to 135’, from the north arm to just east of the bell.

No keepers though! Still, fun to get out.

Grace Island today from 11 to 3. Decent action on the 200 foot contour. One was 60cm and a bunch around 55. Looks like the big ones are over at Thrasher!!!. Beautiful day but nothing for dinner.

Looks like you had a great outing there I’m jealous-any tips on where to go hunt for some prawns over that area I’m not familiar with the prating over there. Are you still going 300 feet?

Use the same strategy as over here. The area is flooded with very good looking spots. Although we did find better looking spots in the 350 foot range vs. the 250 we tend to fish on this side. It's all about the type of structure.

Well I don’t really like to kiss-and-tell with the prawns but yeah what @Raincity said about structure and finding the same type of stuff that works around here. There’s a few spots I’d try.

I also take note of where the commies set and try some of those spots a couple of months after their season is over. I mostly don’t bother during the commercial opening but when I do I try to find a little niche somewhere they can’t reach with a whole set.
