2025 OFFISHALL Vancouver- Howe Sound-Sechelt Fishing Reports Thread

Started at the bell to mile markers late this morning, pretty slow, not much bait around, just a couple shakers. Ran up to tunstall, did a few passes, didn’t mark anything. Cruised around looking for some bait, found some at grace, got into some steady action, a couple unders, bonked a 63 and let a legal one go to fight another day - it was scared pretty bad on both sides. Lot of big logs floating around. Also ran up beside some guy dropping his gear, he didn’t seem too impressed, my apologies I thought you were Jon

Was at Cowan today 1:30 to 4. All unders 45-55cm at all depths. Kept changing depths to find a bigger one but didn’t matter. Was getting the unders from 220’ to 95’. Lost count of the hits but it was well over 3 dozen. Got lots of gaff release practice.

That was me and not a problem. Was just working on a new setup and got a bit surprised. Nice to see some proper fish still being caught. No bites for me, just a lost rigger ball and snubber….good practice for next year!

You'll know the difference between the two boats because I'll be netting fish 😛😉

I did notice a handful of boats fishing yesterday out at the QA marker. Any reports from there? It is not an area I would consider a normal winter fishing spot, but seems to be more fish turning up every winter so I suspect there must have been some action out that way in the last little while.

Years past it's been 'Shaker City' I don't imagine that's changed.
I've tried in years past and found the same. Tons and tons and tons of tiny fish. You really need to be where the bait is packed into structure to find anything of size.

Yesterday. Started off at Bell buoy and moved to Tunstall. 2 small under sized fish. Ran to off of east of Gambier Island. Fished 225 ft with flasher and herring strip with an army truck hoochie in an old-time herring clip. One nice keeper and one barely legal. Plenty of outflows, so hard to stay on the gear and then flat calm around 2 PM. Not much feed. Luckily found the fish at 400 -500 ft contour. Managed to hold the speed upwind but couldn't slow down downwind.
