2025 OFFISHALL Vancouver- Howe Sound-Sechelt Fishing Reports Thread

We fished SH from 1130 to 330- first out farther in 4-500 the n in tighter to 200- we found best action around 380-400 for coho anyhow- hit 8 unclipped- some were 12-14 lb chunkers, 1 clipped in the mix- 5-6 lb go figure, lots of grill, then landed this chunk white screamer on on wonderbread at 35’-
Beaty afternoon out there- best action seem to be about 1130 to 2. It was quite slow by three. All fish 35 to my best number this year Ray Bourque-77.

Went to clean the boat in preparation for sale but couldn't resist the conditions. Quick burn out to North Arm with the high tide. Before I got the second line down at 70 ft fish on, feeder chinook. Steady action from 3 to sunset but no keepers. North of the arm it was all feeder nook but south of arm it was all nice wild coho with schools surfacing regularly. The coho liked a big naked spoon over a Konezone vs the White hoochie/Goldbetsy combo and vise versa with the feeder nook.
Selling and replacing?

That is pretty sweet! Is a 25 a whole lot more boat than a 25?
Absolutely! I've owned a number of Monaros. I am even in twofootitis remission. Now back in a 25 this one will have all my wants and be the forever boat. Nice little things like windshield sprayer, moving riggers further back. But mainly Tarka toots along nicely in the 30's but with the single 350 I should get nicely into the 40s...

Tarka looking good though

FN0767 sent out Aug 6 opened area 28 for 2 chums a day
IMHO this was a response with absolutely no data backup (no chums present anywhere) for not allowing recreational catch of sockeye in the Fraser mouth management areas when at least decent runs were present
DFO Throwing us an imaginary bone
Also refer to FN1095 issued Oct 15 ( one day earlier ) that stated there would not be sufficient return numbers of chums to open for recreational, aboriginal, and commercial openings for Fraser river chums
4 a day retention a day later???

Test fishery CPUE...appears to have improved in the last couple of days. At least according to the table. I am not sure what that means for total estimated run size however.(Fraser chum test fishing table)

Is Test Fisher CPUE the Albion Test Fishery?

Looks like the numbers at Albion have bumped up (for chum) in the last week or so. Chum net used on odd days of the month...the last 3 days of the chum net have had 175+ each day.

Yes. That was what I was referring to. Was at Kanaka the other day (working). Very low and not an adult fish, or even a pink carcass to be seen.
