2025 OFFISHALL Vancouver- Howe Sound-Sechelt Fishing Reports Thread

I think they learned that tac from fuel miserly fishing guides that charge by the hour. They were targeting nooks in 28-6 and once they gave up on that weren’t in a hurry to get into pinks.

Worked Gower to Roberts creek for 4 hours today. Slow, couple 60cm springs and a couple wild coho. Stubbornly kept running my 6” herring near bottom 100-150’ of water. Fish whistle wasn’t even working today… Finally paid off after I called “5 more minutes” for the third time around 5:00pm. 80cm on the nose and beauty red meat.

Went to Bowen today but to rough for the family. Went back to the bell and smashed a bunch of catch and release chinook while looking for coho and pinks. Running a lemon lime and a pink hoochie and still picking up chinook. Had a big chinook with a bunch of great runs. Can’t wait for sept first. Hard to understand the regs sometimes. I can catch a chinook on one side of the harbour and have to throw it back. Other side it’s a keeper. Either way awesome day on the water.

so officially confused. 28-2 to 28-8 open for 1?

Fished Gower from 10 to 1230 today. Caught a beauty wild coho at 70 feet and also released a smaller spring. White hootchie had all the action. Saw quite a bit of bait on sounder at the bottom. Pulled gear and headed to RC. No action there and didn't see any action from the pack of boats.

The only area open to chinook retention is 28-6 (west van shoreline). North Of Halkett is catch and release only. Rest of Howe Sound is closed to chinook fishing

Howe Sound Area 28-2 is open to 62-80cm chinook only North of Halkett Point

Fished Sand Heads for about 4 hours Monday Aug 4.

Some releases, kept a few Pinks. Few Coho around, not much luck finding clipped ones. First Pinks I’ve caught there this year. Some forecasting Fraser Pink run this year in the millions. Expect Pink numbers at Sandheads will build quickly now. Pinks biting on whatever we put out.

Got sealed. Seals actively hunting in the river and cruising the green can.

Couple dozen boats out there, FN fishing, DFO checking.
