Same. 10-12 and only had shakers to the boat. Had one huge hit that popped the clip but was gone before I got to it. Back to normal winter fishing at the bell. I saw a couple keepers come over the rails. So the odd fish is still around, of course.Did a few hours in the harbour today. 10-1. Slow. Couple unders.
That hot fishing was fun. Hopefully they come back before April. Saw you out there. New rig looks great.Same. 10-12 and only had shakers to the boat. Great you callled it in. Did you happen to get their boat registration? I’ve had that happen to me as well. Only one out there and they almost flip you’re damn boat!!!I was out at Passage today and a couple guys in a blue hulled 20ish Hewescraft-like boat buzzed me within 50 feet when there wasn't another boat around for miles. I was very close to shore showing someone a house. They had no business being that close to me. Couple older Caucasian gentlemen who really needed to get a good look at me for some reason. They also happened to drop their prawn traps right in the middle of the Sponge Reef Closure area. I reported it to DFO. Uncalled for behavior all around.
No but I got his name and phone number off the float and a good description of the guy. As well as pictures and screenshots of my location. I was so pissed off that he did that, I almost chased him down but decided against it. Wooooooh-saaaaaaahGreat you callled it in. Did you happen to get their boat registration? Thought about it, but I'm hoping DFO handles it accordingly. Funny, I know. Admin certainly wouldn't let it slide either.Post it in a new thread called “Name and Shame” No bad ideas, right?
That was me in my new boat. Wanted to compare boat sizes... And it's 20.5ft thank you very much.I was out at Passage today and a couple guys in a blue hulled 20ish Hewescraft-like boat buzzed me within 50 feet when there wasn't another boat around for miles. Have fished it for 20 years , this is the general tack I follow when fish are on structure ( winter and mid - late summer ) , can fish as shallow as 120’ or as deep as 240’. Careful around the pin at there is some sharp pinnacles if you aren’t paying full attention , they usually hold fish though . Fish the north end up towards flat tops on the flood , and the south end on the ebb .Question for the folks with experience at thrasher rock. Is there a good guide or game plan for fishing this area? My usual game plan in a new spot is to just find the boats, but there’s not a lot of people out there. Any tips or links would be appreciated.
Yep that’s the tack. Don’t be afraid to keep it going west towards the flat top islands. But you usually won’t make it thru that whole tack before you find the fish and stay on them. Good luck!good intel on the tack. I’m going to give this a rip soon. Conditions looking pretty good for a crossing.
Harbour is nice. Howe Sound has a bit of a breezeAnyone able to provide a conditions report in the Harbour?
