You mean the name of the boat is drifter. That's not the name he had on his boat in the past but he took the name off as he was getting well known by his name.Is “the drifter” still at large?

Totally agree. Especially as it's a pink salmon year, I use the herring instead of anchovies to keep the smaller pinks off my hooks. Better targets the chinooks come SepOh I got my 5 bags ready for pick up. The good ones for salmon I vacuum pack in bags of 8, slightly pre-salted.How do you store the bait? Do you pack in trays and vacuum seal?
Do you throw a roll of 6-8 into a crab trap bait cage? The good ones for salmon I vacuum pack in bags of 8, slightly pre-salted.
Big ones for cod/hali go into ziploc bags of 10-12.
The rest get chopped up and mixed with prawn pellets, in my traps I use one canister of pellets only, and one herring/pellet mixture.
Takes a bit of time but then it’s ready to go all season long.
Do you grind up the herring for prawn bait or just a little fine chopping ?The good ones for salmon I vacuum pack in bags of 8, slightly pre-salted.

I hope things haven’t slowed down too much. I’m finally getting the chance to drop the boat in the water this Sunday for the first time this winter, and I’d love to hear if anyone has any updates or reports to share.Only if I’m out of fish carcasses.

Where’s the fishing reports, must have slowed right down out there at the Bell, eh?
I am planning this weekend as well. Finally free of all the Christmas obligations and can get back to fishing. We are heading to the bell Saturday morning and I will post after the trip.I hope things haven’t slowed down too much. I don't believe you.Everyone should just keep their boats on the hard for the winter. It's COLD out there guys! Us full-time moored guys only do it to keep the growth off. It's not that fun.
