2025 OFFISHALL Vancouver- Howe Sound-Sechelt Fishing Reports Thread

Heading out tomorrow to fish south of Bowen all day- probably my only day left of the season. I’m so confused by the regs since the recent changes. What is the max number of salmon (all types) I can retain per license? I believe it is 4 total per person but want to check?
What type of salmon will you be fishing for exactly?

Maximum of 4 salmon per license.

If your fishing south Bowen you are in area 29-3. Pinks and hatchery coho are the only fish you can retain. You can retain a maximum of 2 hatchery coho per license.

That technically includes salt & freshwater together. ie, you can’t bonk 4 salmon on the ocean and then go floss 2 more up the river in the same day.

Of all the confusing & ever-changing regs we deal with, this one has always been in place, and it’s pretty easy to find on the DFO site. Just sayin.

I’m going against the grain tomorrow. Targeting pinks as I’ll be with two friends that have never fished (their boat), my wife, and 3 kids 4-6 years old. Gonna be chaos on the boat with that 7 people but I get to pretend to be a guide for a day
Let us know how the water conditions are . Looks like the same predicted weather /wind for tomorrow and want to get out tomorrow myself .
Good luck out there
