2025 OFFISHALL Vancouver- Howe Sound-Sechelt Fishing Reports Thread

Spent the morning trolling just west of the bell with the rest of the fleet, while the crab traps were soaking. One spunky red doe to show for our efforts. Skinny g 100 on the rigger 120 fow. Tossed at least1/2 a dozen legal dungys after boxing our limit. Hope for one more weather window next weekend. Cheers

Late report. Brother and I fished on Saturday 2nd time this season, west of Bell. fished glow white and spatter back hotches only. both worked. Released at least a dozen just under and finally kept 3 legal. found bait and caught fish anywhere from 95' to 170' on the rigger. Sorry, no picture.

Any intel on the prawning lately? Looking to launch my boat next weekend, and was hoping to get a few soaks in before the commercial season opens up. Thanks in advance.

Alright lads - game time! last weekend of chinook season. What are the plans? Sunday looks pretty darn calm, and even a bit sunny. Might be the right time for the long run out to Thrasher, so that's where I'll be. Tight lines out there. Hoping to hear some good reports.
Sounds like fish are staging off the North Arm now. If these are early Fraser fish you won't need to go far to get into a couple

Probably best to avoid those early Fraser fish... don't think it makes much sense to target stocks of concern. Especially considering most Chinook regs are in place to protect those fish. If their populations have a chance to rebound, we might see some fisheries open up.

Actually? giving guys a hard time or killing chinook in open areas in this day and age with unjust shutdowns running most of the spring/summer? if its open its open, with the unjust shutdowns the last thing i would be worried about would be what stock my fish was coming from, i also don't think those fish are all mostly early Fraser fish, most likely just where the bait and bite is currently .

seen lots of samples from bell to QA from March to May, these are feeders with some being Harrison whites but Harrison whites stay in the SOG and feed so that’s expected. Most of them are us bound fish.

Any early time Fraser fish tend to come in though the jdf and shoot up the south arm. Catching one of these would be like catching a steelhead.

im sure those early fish will just end up in nets on the fraser way things have been the last few years

Don’t think I was giving anyone a hard time. Just a suggestion. No one is happy about the closures, but those fish are precisely why we are shut down. Any way, not the place for this discussion. Good luck out there. Hope the weather holds for this weekend so we can all get out before she closes.
