I'm pretty sure that is a closed areaWell glad I ventured out, going up the river was a tad ugly but once you got to sandheads it wasn't too bad. This afternoon it flattened out quite nicely. Stayed with the crowd for the first 3 hours with nothing to show for it then headed out to 300' and towards delta port and within 30 minutes we limited out on springs, 2 in the high teens and 2 in the mid teens, the only boat within a mile... funny how that works...
Think the boundary is the hooter?I'm pretty sure that is a closed area

Well if it was a closed area , over 100 boats were fishing illegally yesterday because that's where a lot of them were.I'm pretty sure that is a closed area

I know my areas very well and what's open and closed, I keep a very close eye on it.
Here is a notice dated July 31 2017. http://notices.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/fns-sap/index-eng.cfm?pg=view_notice&DOC_ID=199048&ID=all
(not on the regular area 29 updates page at DFO site either-it's on a separate notice page)
.....All of Subareas 29-6, 29-7, 29-9 and 29-10 (Fraser River mouth) are closed to retention of Chinook Salmon.
So those areas are open for fishing and retention of other species of fish just not Chinook? Didn't it used to be closed for all angling or am I remembering wrong?
Has that notice been changed since July 31st? I searched through the notices pages and couldn't find a later update.
If not then a **** load, and I mean **** load of sporties are fishing inside those sub areas.
DFO needs to put these notices with additions to them on the original AREA REGION info pages like they used to do. All additions used to be updated on the main pages and were easy to locate.
I always assume the banana remains closed but as everyone can see fishing near there a **** load of people don't realize this probably cause it's not on the main pages anymore.
29-3 and 29-4 open.
Here's what I'm going by. ***** so confusing
