Its a sandlance, not a cannonball!
I'm always amazed at how good your boat looks on the water after all these years. What is it,mid 90's?Good quality gelcoat job to start with and no doubt lots of upkeep.Spending the day doing some of my annual spring polish and wax to the boat. It never got this last spring as Covid put the season in doubt until later on in 2020. So 2 years worth of oxidation to remove. I'm trying a new wax this year...the Meguiars put a really good shine on the Mustang a few weeks ago so thought I would use it up on the boat and see if it lasts as good as the Star Brite...which is also a great wax. Many hours still to go but always worth it when done and you are looking at a new looking boat again.
It’s the first bit of the m $150 of gear I owe myself for coming up with a new business name.only 1 AP sandlance?
What kind of pad do you use for the 3M compound and what polisher is that? I agree with the replies below. Your boat looks awesome. Care to tell some of the details of your work please and thanks.Spending the day doing some of my annual spring polish and wax to the boat. Out of warranty... doh!Bummer, hope you get warranty care !
Great job and beautiful boat,I couldn't see a dock rub mark anywhere. Not too many Grady's look that nice, they get used too much.Recently did some polishing work on my dads 28 Marlin. Here are a few videos of the finished product, 3m specific gel coat products do an amazing job. This Hull is a 1990 and had never before been compounded, only semi annual waxing, so there was a considerable amount of oxidization.

Thanks, Ray. There were actually a lot of gouges, scratches and scuffs that I ended up wetsanding out. I ended up trying out a new-to-me product from 3m, their perfect-it series for gel coat. Their heavy cut compound can remove P800 scratches and their claims don’t lie, amazing stuff. Most of the deeper stuff was hit with 400/800 and then compounded out. As per 3m system it is to be followed up with Finesse-it ii polish, with the corresponding blended wool polishing pad (different from the 100% wool compounding pad). Final wax was done with the Collonite 885 paste wax, amazing stuff but needs to be applied in small sections. It will last almost a whole season.Great job and beautiful boat,I couldn't see a dock rub mark anywhere. Not too many Grady's look that nice, they get used too much.

hahaha ya it was a nightmare for sure.. if you are replacing them make sure u ground them out at the same time.. just did mine now it was sequel Nightmare on Grady street IIThank you, and yes, you’re absolutely correct. I replaced all the Marelon thru hulls on my Pursuit with Gemlux stainless. It wasn’t a job I was willing to take on with his Grady, the polishing was enough for this year, I’ve got my own stuff to do lol.
