Another nice day out there other than the morning rain.
Nothing but pinks and wild coho all morning until a radio call from Stiper Jack leading us to some spings. As soon as we got there we boated a 21 lb and lost 1 other spring. Lots of pinks (which are getting bigger) and a few nice wild coho.

Thanks for the call Jack! Made the day.

Tips

awesome morning picked up a 25,22,12 and 10 nice sized pinks...I think having Derrick on the boat is good luck:)

He even got a stab at netting some pinks today...

went thru 3 packs of bait today

Nice looking fish Roy,keep the pictures coming. I sure enjoy looking at them. The people all have grins, thats what its about!Dan

Pretty tough fishing for springs, tons of shaker's
lost a couple of good ones at Muir & Otter.
Took the kids out for non stop pink action Saturday
small fish, but lot's of fun.

Just got a call from a buddy who boated a 40lber at 3:00. He also got one close to 30lb earlier in the day.
I think it is going to heat up now! Should be good for the next 3-4 weeks!

Tips

Boys I think we are in for an August and early September that will see record numbers of fish over 40 pounds and a few over 50. They are coming from up coast, there are lots of them. We will see them if the guys up the line don't get them all first. Take a look at the Nootka posts and the pics of the bigger fish weighed in at Critter Cove. Many of the fish coming in from the Bajo Reef on the outside are not Nootka bound Chinook and are slowly coming our way. I'm predicting lots of big fish soon!

Sunday didn't look like it was going to start so good, raining all the way to Sooke, bad wind report, but at 7am Cheanuh wasn't busy and got the boat in the water in minutes. Had 1st spring (6.0lbs) within 5 minutes off Aldridge. Beautiful day on the water, dead calm, nailed a 25lb east of Secretary 70' on blue teaser. Final count 3 springs 5 pinks and lost count of the small jack bait stealers. Must have tossed back a dozen pinks looking for another big spring.

What's wrong with that for 1.5h fishing? 36, 24, 20 and 9ish. All from Otter Pt. tonight! Thanks for a memorable trip victoriaboater!

Got out around 8:30 this am. Fished Secretary, Possession and one trip down to the Trap and back. Picked up an 18.5 lb spring and the usual assortment of Pinks. Got the Spring on a metallic gold and red Rhys Davis head.

hey guys need a tip hear. were trying to figure out if your aloud 2 chinook,2 coho and 4 pinks or just 4 total fish?

I hope you are kidding! You are allowed 4 salmon per day. Two of which can be chinook and two of which can be hatchery coho (most areas). Are the regulations that difficult to read?

You can keep any combination as long as you do not exceed EACH species limits and do not keep more than 4 salmon total per day.

He was scared!!!!! I was right near him with my big knife and offered to filet it for him but he decided to try it on his own!!!!:(:(
