Mercury eco monitor.
All the info you need plus troll control

Thank you for the info. I’ll have to look at my Merc quote to see if that was included or what is.

Looks like the item they quoted was the Smartcraft Sc1000 tach. it has a lot of features you can scroll through. The eco monitor looks to be more features. Will look further into it.

You will be giving up your quick “at a glance” round gauges though if you only use the smart craft tach. The troll control feature is handy, but I have a feeling you will be running a kicker as well. They also make a tachometer with troll control but fewer features, which is probably what would work for you and you can still have your regular gauges. I think it would be hard to give them up.

Yep, I will be running a kicker as well. What gauges do you think I really need? With the inboard I had tach, fuel, hours, oil pressure, engine temp, volts and leg trim. I don’t think I’ll need engine temp, oil pressure or hours.

water pressure, volts, fuel, water temp, and i believe oil pressure, one might have been trim. all were visable on the sc1000 tach but wanted to see them all the time. these all daisy chain together and read info off the buss connection

Merc eco monitor does everything you need, even logs fuel flow, fuel used, shows warning , water pressure, all temps......You can set it to show what you want, rpm, temp, water pressure or it can scroll thru.

Try looking at one in use on someone’s boat. You can see mine if you're in Vancouver. Point is you need to scroll for some readings, and you might prefer “at a glance” that gauges give, or a troll control tach with minimal options plus a few gauges. Not all of those Merc tachometers with multi read outs are the same

Vessel view link is a great option too. I have multiple screens at the helm and use one as my gauges.
When I fish swap it to a fishfinder screen.

That’s nice to have all those options. I’d be happy with that. I don’t really need separate gauges that are on all the time.
Can you control the kicker throttle from your merc system.

No I can not. My engines are mechanical so troll control only works on dts controls. Your 225 is dts but the kicker is on the remote, I think but not 100% on that

Man I wish they made the Pro Kicker with DTS that would be awesome! Nice work so far, if your going to add merc monitor just get the module that sends the data to you screen, works great on my boat. the Merc screen is expensive and it takes up a lot of room on the dash!
Do you mean for him to get the NMEA connection kit ?

Should I leave the current tabs on or replace with new ones. If replace then what with?
I assume they came with the boat in 1992 but not sure. I think the make is Boat Leveler. Tabs are 14”x11”.
