Seasport skipper 19 podding project

The tank will be subject to stresses as the fuel moves around inside it’s not unheard of to blow a baffle out. Your tank is small I wouldn’t think that would be an issue but just something else to consider. I build tanks and wouldn’t (I actually just flat out refuse) to use 0.125” its the most dangerous and critical part of your boat the difference in material cost is so minimal -$100 or less. You are correct that 0.90” is the minimum.

Specs are listed in abyc h24 (gas) and h32 (diesel)

At .090 and 33 years old, I was sitting on a ticking time bomb. Ignorance can be bliss but not very smart.

Should an aluminum fuel tank have a ground tab welded onto it? My new tank doesn’t have one that I can see from the pics. Should I have one added? My old tank had one.

Pretty Sure you want to ground the tank, but your builder might be planning on the grounding happing through the sending unit.... I would want a dedicated ground
Thanks for this, probably why my tank lost its ground, and I could not see a ground strap coming from the tank. (tab is there though) I added one separate.

outside transom is starting to look good. They did put a drain hole at the bottom of the V. The factory one was 3 or 4” up the side of the v and was basically useless.

Below deck area starting to take shape. They are going to try and take advantage of the different areas for storage etc. I gave them some deck pics of different Seasport configurations. Told them my basic ideas and I’ll let them run with it.

Progressing really well,it'll be nice having all that storage in the cockpit. I just bought the same "Hitchins" strait line sander he's using to get your transom flat more or less. Should save me a lot of time trying to fair things in.

Things are starting to get filled in. I’m supposed to go to the shop early next week to figure out how we want the deck drainage and hatches to work.

This what they use to make the molds for the hatch covers and channels. They use this same piece for all different sizes of edging. If it needs to be smaller they just cut pieces out and rejoin.

Just looking at your pictures it doesn't look like there's enough room to install the drain trough inside your tank area to make the tank removable. Is the plywood in the bilge just temporary till you decide how you want it? You'll need a bilge pump down there even with a self bailing deck. I'm sure they will give you good options on best way to do it.

No drain trough on deck over the fuel tank. That will be a removable screwed down portion of the deck, similar to before.
Re the plywood in bilge, I’m sure it’s just laying in there loose. I will find out more on Monday when I go in for more planning 😊
