Seasport skipper 19 podding project

Could extend that lip and make a single hatch cover for that entire opening. Be a tiny tripping Hazzard, however to retain that self bailing deck you might not have a choice if you want constant access. Since that deck isnt troffed. I would choose to hatch it if it were me.

You could always raise the floor a bit with rubber mats or somthing to lessen the lip for foot traffic

The deck hatch covering is going to be troughed to allow the self bailing. Boat just went into the shop yesterday and they have started working on things today 🥳

Well it looks like we have run into some extra work. Port side of transom was wet along with port side stringers having rot.

That sucks. Like I said you find this stuff out as you go along.

I am now looking for ideas on aft deck configurations and transom ideas. Lots of potential storage where motor once was and areas on port and starboard side stringer area.
The deck and stringers has some rot so are likely going to be stripped down further. Therefore I can basically do what I like with back deck area and transom. Any pics or ideas of what you have or would like would be greatly appreciated.

I just bought the Uflex Protech 1.1 hydraulic steering system for my project.
Does anyone know how long of hydraulic hoses I would need for my 19’ Seasport. Harbour Chandler has 20’ but I had a quote on Seasrar system that was using 22’.

I would say 22’ then. Almost need to run a cable helm to outboard on bracket. That is one part you will need motor installed for unless just going to transom bulkhead fitting then 2 short hoses to outboard

How long was your hosing on the 22’ Seasport.
I’ll worry about hosing length other than today. Sill have ages before motor goes on.

I can not remember to tell the truth. I used Seastar rigid hose helm to transom the a couple shorter hoses. You will need to get bracket installed to get your lengths

Good on you for tackling this project! A friend podded his 19 seaport and did the raised lip with hatch covers. Worked well but the troughed option will be slick! That will be a fun setup to fish from.
