Early Halibut Opening

Somebody suggested leaving it closed for a year, maybe not a bad idea considering the options that remain.
I don’t believe they allow a carryover if we are under. If they did this it might open the door to that? Also might need IPHC approval?

I have attached the latest Creel Survey Coast Assessment Bulletin regarding Halibut.

I will send out the entire two Creel Survey Reports (24 pages and 8 pages) regarding all fish on a new Thread

The two attached pages only reflect the number of halibut caught in 2024, but not the lbs. I have not received that and hopefully it will be available at your local DFO/SFAB up coming meetings

Note, one page is on kept and one on released.

I’m not a big bottom fisher and have only recently found somewhat of a groove with salmon
So my question is with the halibut
What is the survival rates for catch and release
I know with the few bottom fish I’ve caught they go through hell before they get back down to depth
And how is it done properly one thing to do a small rock fish I’ve never seen a halibut yet
And is the member that’s doing the deal on early season halibut fishing still doing so
As I think it would be beneficial to take a lesson or two
