Commander 26 Re Build

Says the guy who does not build boats for a living lol
I do not build boats but have had two with brackets, one Armstrong and the one on my hourston. Both with rake/step. The guy who built mine seemed pretty knowledgeable on the design. In saying that lots of brackets follow the keel and work well. Whatever works. Lots of mouse trap designs too

I know I was just messing with ya. They all work when done properly. Was really giving Dwane a thumbs up.

Still thinking about that…. Other temporary boat, There’s a saying in my shop
Sttr, what’s your favourite boat?the next one

May not be exactly what you’re thinking or looking for but maybe could help speed up the build and get you on the water. Get the boat built at least, use it and sell after some use if you feel you want bigger.

If the controls, steering and props weren't going to cost so much, I would agree. Seastar Optimus is an expensive system. Better to get a set of take-offs where they are not just repowering with the same brand, so you get all or most of the add-ons.
Those bolt up just like any seastar cylinder would. He will need steering regardless

Nice, I was thinking of the Merc Verado's?

This one seems like a good deal but still needs controls. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/767670034699650/
Yes think you are getting that mixed up. That system in the picture above is seatar stuff. The seapros and verados are alot different. Verados have that stupid power steering unit that fails all the time and draws power all the time. Tough on alterators.

Ya posted a little quick didn’t realize no rigging, could just get new contols, steering and props. My thoughts would be to just get the boat put to together not go to crazy overthinking and getting the best of everything. That may be an unpopular opinion but maybe more realistic. If not these motors, something similar that is more affordable. Would still be a really nice boat without brand new engines and that way if it wasn’t the perfect boat for sttr it would be more reasonable for someone else to buy afterwards. More realistic but still a sick boat.

Pod RIP! I just saw someone ripping a guy I know who is a well known pod fabricator on Facebook. Hope you can move on now that this funeral has taken place and you meet the pod of your dream that will give you 30 years of boating.
I’m not gonna get married to the pod LoL

There was no benefit for me to rip into this guys shop (even thou I really really wanted to).It took a while but worked itself out.
Not loosing my **** paid off in the long run,
Especially with some people that were looking at how I would handle this situation.
