I am looking to install a heater on our Lux Marine build. The boat is currently in getting a wrap around canvas for the benches. I’ve got a Planar 44d heater to pair with this and am having a hard time committing to an exhaust port. The heater will be installed on the drivers side inside the console. It’s easy to run the exhaust port out the console but melted jackets and fumes on the deck is the concern.
Has anyone run their exhaust up to the roof on a console? Or just run a long exhaust line in general? It will be about a 5.5 ft run to the roof. The concern is carbon build up over the long vertical run. Will be run with kerosene and full tilt or off so I think it will be feasible. Will be able to have a water tight port welded on the roof side exhaust port.
Any thoughts or ideas?
