6061 is $3 per pound at most. A boat like that has about $12k in plate max.

Pretty sure guys aren’t using 6061 plate for hulls. Could be wrong tho
Pretty standard for marine construction. The better stuff is only another buck a pound.

A boat like this needs the test of time before I'd ever buy it. Also that bow design will plow water and push back in heavier seas - might be a rough ride.
True that plastic does not corrode, but it does oxidize and deteriorate over time, also hard to repair. - Like I said time will tell.
