So, having taken possession of my boat, I'm planning my first ever launch (assuming I can get the trailer out of our driveway

).
I was planning on launching at Tulista. It's an 18' aluminum with a 90 hp motor so it's not all that heavy. Can anyone tell me what kind of tide I need?
Thanks,
Dennis
Congrats on the boat purchase! Sounds like a good boat for the Sidney/Gulf Islands area.
Here’s a few tips for first launch at Tulista
1.) Go when it’s not busy. It’s a heavily used launch, especially on the weekends. Be prepared, and get there early morning. Better chance at close parking.
2.) If there are boats waiting to be launched, get in line and get the boat prepped for launch. Fenders out, dock lines at the ready. Make sure the PLUG IS IN. If you have someone with you, send them to the machine to pay parking/launch fees.
3.) At Tulista the dock to the south is for launching, the north is for retrieving, and the middle dock seems to handle the overflow. When it’s busy, it’s a ***** show. But just take a moment to observe the flow and anyone who is waiting to either launch or retrieve. Once you launch, walk the boat out to the deepest part of the dock and tie up. Park as quick as you can and hustle back, at this point you wanna free up the dock space as quick as possible.
4.) Retrieve on the north side (the side closest to the ferry dock). Again, watching for other boats that might already be lined up waiting. Tilt the motor up. Once the boat is on the trailer, pull all the way up and out of the way, next to the ticket machine, secure boat for travel.
