Beach bbq night with family from out o town. The conditions looked good so we figured we’d troll for a bit. 20-30 minutes at the spit we got a clipped spring. ( 11-12lbs)

We also got ours on a herring aid spoon but it was small, after yours there was no more bites and very little bait or fish on the finder. Glad you got one! The beach BBQ looked great and such a nice night for it!

anyone finding anything today, been out since first light at waymond one pink and an under chinook right away but nothing since.

Just freshly home from Nova Scotia. The jet lag had me wide awake at 4:30AM so I figured what the hell…one smaller coho lost mid-jump and this nice 77cm wild female for the BBQ tonight. Three runs to the boat with a hectic solo net job. It was so fun but would’ve been hilarious to watch

Oherwise pretty slow but the bite turned on around 10AM. A dozen or so boats in the open area east of Fairfax at 18-4. Cop Car got it done! happy to break a dry spell for me!

I also found that obstruction by the spit. Noticed my lines all paid out and managed to haul lines and slowly use the rigger to pull me overtop in neutral. Crab float was submerged about 30’ under. I should’ve hauled it up but it slipped off the ball and I couldn’t get another pull on it. Luckily no gear lost.

I was a moresby this morning too. ( left at about 10:00) Lost 4 pinks? before getting one. I thought they were sockeye at first. Caught on green/white and black/ white spoons that I was aiming for springs with.
I set prawn traps today as well and did ok.

Fished the Pender side of Moresby yesterday morning from 6:30 to noon. Caught a couple of Pinks early but that was it. Seems like Sidney has been very slow for Springs compared to the last few years at this time?

Last year seemed to have 2 weeks where Hamley seemed to have lots of fish. Maybe during the rains this weekend it will help again.
