Will be out Friday and Saturday… I’ll be going to Gaylord’s Bluffs and offshore if possible…. Other spots as noted as well. Can’t wait for the hunt. Bait is in the brine.

Just got back from 3.5. Days in Ukee and I’m glad we went. First day was slow at Mara, great bear and cree. The next two days were on fire at long beach for us where we got our limits on mid to high teens nooks and our Hali. Last 1/2 day was spent looking for a few more hoes. Nothing but springs at chrow, beg, alley, sail and cree. Our go to’s were Skinny G’s (Irish cream and no bananas)
Kevin hooked us up with Moorage at community dock, Ukee seafood did an amazing job on our fish and Capn hook gave me an amazing deal on two admunson rods and reels after my MR3 and Technica slid out of rod holder and sank in front of my eyes. 🫤 Can’t wait to be back at the end of August!! Absolutely beauty out there!!!IMG_6443.jpegIMG_3485.jpeg

Thanks for the report. Where did you lose your rod and how deep? Might take a good freediving buddy out there next week or in a couple of weeks, if it’s bright red an under 100 feet he might be able to grab it.

Well that would be amazing but I think it’s around 100’…. I have the exact coordinates on my boat, it’s just south of great bear. I will go have a look and let you know. Thx

Ya I’d be dragging that spot for awhile with some trebles
I did drag my balls around with flashers and spoons on. What kinda trebles are you talkin?

Talking about trying to snag those rods
I’d have a hard time leaving my gear without trying a retrieval so I’d rig up some big trebles to drag back and forth over the spot before going home

Thursday... banner day, nothing Big Beach to Wya, went offshore and everything got hammered chinook/coho/hali.
Still small spoons but the bait is slowly growing from what I checked in the stomachs. Didn't matter what flashers, all colours uv/glow or not. Fish size was consistently good, fished down to 88 on the riggers. Even hali on the troll at that depth. Away from the pack. Just go explore and find a zone you like.

How far offshore are you talking about?

Went out for just over an hr and picked up a 19 lbs Spring at Mara this morning. Pretty slow out there. Heard it was going off just outside of light house bank.

Heading to Ukee in just under a week. Had a great trip out there last season and pretty excited to see the size is up across the board this year. We did really well with springs, coho and cod but could use a point in the right direction for halibut if anyone wants to exchange some information. Picked up a couple but it was a grind. Still lots for me to learn when it comes to them. PM's are welcomed if you'd rather keep it off the board. Happy to share where and what has been working for us.

Here's some of our footage from last year!

Great video. I'll be up on the 15th, how long will you be fishing for?

I see the Ukee campground has a launch, do they have a moorage too? If not are you leaving your boat at the marina?

Ukee campground doesn’t have a launch or marina. The launch is a public launch. There are a few options for moorage. Ukee campground also does not allow boat or boat trailers in the campground.

Picked up a couple fat Chinook at outer lighthouse today. Lost a couple others. 150ft of water, gear down at 90 to 110ft. Missed the slack tide. Got out there around 4:30pm and came back in after an hr and a half. Water was starting to get a bit choppy.
