Nope. Retuned to marina last night and came out at 0800 this morning. Yesterday was good. The weather is better today. Flat calm zero wind.

North Arm. Anchovy at 135 in 180 fow. 18.5lbs. Just a couple of shakers other than this guy. Amazing conditions out here.
Do people anchor there to get a jump on things?

We did years ago to cross the strait at first light so there was no risk of running down the north arm in the dark. I had my boat at the Delta Marine Hotel, indicating that it was a while ago.

Amazing weather and calm winds today. Got a beauty chinook at sandheads at 100 ft on a herring. But the big story was how many good sized cohos there are out there now. Just incredible how big some were. Too bad mine were all wild.

Pushed off at 8 this morning planning to head to Cowans. Decided to top off at the fuel dock instead and head to T 10. Lots of action from 9-12. Undersized feeders, jack chinook, wild coho, and a few legal chinook we decided to let go. We also brought up a line thinking undersized and it was a 13 lb buck chum that didn’t realize it was hooked. Once it broke the surface had a 2-3 minute fight in the top 20 feet of water taking us to all sides of the boat complete with 4-5 aerials. It was quite the show. Gonna turn it into selyodka or gravlax and see how it goes. Fun day overall. Flat calm and sun was out. Aurora black stripe hoochie with black double glow flasher and aurora green stripe hoochie with green onion flasher got all the love At 100-120 feet in 150 FOW.

No action around the bell 11-2. Trolled south and started getting hits half way between the North arm and t10. Had a buzzer beater after pulling up one side and getting ready to leave and took home a 70cm marble feeder Chinook caught on a naked 4" spoon at 90' in 130fow. Beautiful day, flat calm.
Not me but I had a pretty good session this morning. Left the Marina at 9:15 and headed straight towards the NA. Dropped line half way between NA and the T10. Bunch of shakers so decided to switch from white hootchies to some left over anchovies. Right before we got to T10, in 189 feet of water with the DR at 77, the port side rod suddenly stood straight up and the tip was bouncing. The fight was on. After 10 minutes, was able to landed this feisty white Chinook . Dropped lines again and finished the day of with a 6 pound hatchery Coho. Got back to the marina by 13:15, grabbed lunch and headed straight to work.

Quick limits on Coho yesterday morning 10-12 at Sandheads. white hoochie top 50 feet of water column with a faster troll; was steady action and didn’t want to leave for other obligations. Several large wild Coho popped the clip, multiple runs fighting above their weight class. Mix was 60/40 hatchery to wild for us.

First post of the year. Caught dragging the bottom, Friday afternoon with a small anchovy at Ambleside at 71 feet on the rigger 4 hours past high slack. Just east of the yellow can.
Not sure the weight. Also caught an 8 lb chum earlier in the day at the bell buoy. Got sealed on a small coho.

Last time out for a while now, gotta shift from fishing season to workin season. Had a buddy back out last minute, so was a solo mission.
Was the first boat at SH for about 15 min and landed a scrappy 9lb white as the second boat rolled up just after 7am. 73’ on herring. Lost a decent spring around 9am. Went to T10 around 10:30am, trolled a straight tack to NA. Halfway between got a hatch ho and about 10 min later a nice fight with a 12lb fresh clean marble. Both on no bananas skinny G around 60’.
Tried the Cap 12-1 for that last coho to tub out, but nothin. Still a great last trip out for a while. More like once a month now, not twice a week.

Yes. Both Friday and Saturday. Lots of coho. A mix. Managed a few clipped. Tossed back 4 wilds. And, small silver Springs. I think they’re feeders. It was pretty much non-stop action both days. I threw out everything I had except hootchies. Most on Chovies. But got some on a blue/silver skinny G, some on plugs (which I rarely use) and a few on 5 inch Tomic spoon that’s green/white. Most at 50 ft. Tons of feed just south of NA.

There two would’ve made nice kids. 25lb pound female and 28lb male.
Fished sandheads first light on Saturday and it was steady fishing till we left around 1. Lots of coho (about 3:1 wild to clipped), keep two small ones. Caught these monsters and once again led myself to believe I MIGHT have a tyee… not quite.
Went back out the next day in the afternoon thinking I could replicate my success to no avail. Two small wild coho and one missed big bite and that was all she wrote. Good season. Beat my personal record twice this year. First time in kyuquot with a 25 and now a 28 at sandheads.
