Decided to get the boat out for the 1st time since September. Fished Moresby for a couple of hours from 11:30 - 1:30. Released one undersize and lost a bigger one near the boat. Wind was a lot stronger than forecast so we pulled the pin early. Bottom bouncing with AP spoons.

Out today and nothing but undersize. The catch of the day was one had a lamprey on it. First time I've seen it.
Noticed scars before but never thought about what caused the scars.

How big was the lamprey? I've seen a few come off sockeye. But they were small, and quite shiny.

They are weird and creepy looking but did some research and they are part of the circle of life for salmon.

I've actually seen some big live ones in a creek before. All holding onto rocks in a rifle. Just chilling out. Very cool.

First time out for 2022 and it was good. Fished for 3 hours this morning at Fairfax and caught many borderline legal and kept a 77 and 85cm fish. Big boys for winters!

It was wet, but no wind at least. Typical Skinny g and AP needle spoons on the bottom.

Nice looking catch

Both were wild sexually mature females, with large herring in their stomachs. Not your typical Sidney winter fish.
