Texted my friend at 10 to see if he wanted to go out for the afternoon. Left the ramp at noon and came back at 3:00 with a 17lbr from the Channel. Not a bad afternoon off Sidney. Hope this is sign of the winter fish this year. Released the usual bunch of 45-55cm fish as well.

Went out yesterday to try the new Trollmaster I just installed and purchased from ship happens. Did exactly what was promised.
Bonus was a nice winter just under 15lbs from Morsbey. A few JBLs released to grow. Not as many fish as last year but a better size.
Love winter fishing no crowds at the ramp or water to deal with.

I have the GoFish Cam and it works perfectly.

Took advantage of the sunshine today and took a couple buddies out for crab and prawns. Dropped 4 traps for an hour and got 280 prawns and picked up 9 nice Dungeness in 1 trap. 2 hours round trip from Van Isle!

Interesting last few days fishing and prawning around Wain Rock. A few fish around.
Pulled traps yesterday and had another set tangled up with mine. Scraped off the slime to read the phone number. Called the guy, said he lost them awhile ago from the Mill Bay side. So they are going home to the owner.
Did the final pull today and my last set had no prawns and no bait cups. Some SOB pulled them took the prawns and bait cups. At least they put the traps back.

Finished off the year with a bang. Went out on the 30th, loaded up with prawns, and we had took a couple of winters home.
