always capers under, bit of shaved lemon and fresh cracked pepper on topcapers and onion underneath the lox! veteran move to keep them all from rolling off !
Drank way too much wine, then got into the rum. Forgot to post the finished pics. My liver takes a beating when I’m living the bachelor lifeWife and kids leaving this afternoon to visit her mother in Nanoose for a week. Moose roast ready to go in the smoker when I drive them to airport. Only needs to be wrapped with bacon. Nice bottle of Malbec to go with it, potato salad, broccoli salad and garlic toast on the side.
Is that garlic, ginger and onions on there? Try some chinese pepper salt on that. Yum!Cabezon cut small, shaken in a bag of corn flour/corn starch/spices fried in 2cm of oil.
Served on last night's fried rice.
I'll keep a few per trip, but wouldn't want to decend a pile rockfish to find 8. Very much ling bycatch, but tasty.

a favourite summer salad of mine , heirlooms, nectarine, pickled shallots , burrata and basil
dressing is a peach balsamic cut with white
vinegar, good olive oil , pinch of cayenne, salt and pepper ( pickle the mandolined shallots in the dressing )
finish with more olive oil and black pepper, always a hit

We have a new bar on the side of the kitchen overlooking the tv room, so it's not really a dinner table, as much as a place to store crap during the never ending renovations. Sometimes you just need to put a plate down in the middle of it. Besides the kitchen table is covered in art and pictures waiting to be re-hung and the dining room table has a drop cloth with cans of paint, tools, box of various tapes, box of glues and silicones, etc. The blue thing is sandpaper. The sock is a rag which was in my pocket with the studfinder, money, nippers and fuse which I found on the deck of my boat when I moved it outside to put the living room furniture in the garage when the new flooring went in.I love all the extras in this shot, left to right,
Pen
fuse
nail clippers
money (organized neatly)
Spackle and a putty knife
paper with math
unknown blue thing
a sock
What appears to be a package from a hinge
and a stud finder
Looks a bit like my house
