What Did You Do To Your Boat This Week?

Dang trim/tilt pivot pins on my kicker were seized (top and bottom pivots), so the trim/til would bind up the farther it extended out.

It required major heating (tig torch), was a real struggle.
I cut half way thru the pin before resorting back to heat/hammer/punch.

I may have to do that same thing. Is that a mercury pro kicker? Is there a platic bushing in there? Cheers

Yeah it's a mercury pro kicker.
There are plastic bushings, check the parts fiche to understand the configuration before starting yours.
I was surprised just how seized it could get, considering it's seated against plastic.

Finished my rigging table, after a few "prototypes" on the mounting over the Christmas period. With the geometry of an Arima splash well needed to tilt up to allow motor to tilt, and also wanted it easy to take on and off. We'll see how this holds up this season. Tilts like butter, and comes off easy by pulling the two quick release pins up front.

Who made the shed? I’m struggling to find a “temporary” structure (as per city requirements) that will fit in my front yard and fit my seasport 22.
Capital auto equipment in Vancouver. Mine is 14x14x30 sitting on 2’x2’ cedar timbers
Not sure if it meets requirements for the city but do not care either. It is my property and neighbors are fine with it.

I'll have to make a little video at some point, but just installed the new Westcoast Fishing Tackle 36" fillet table. Installed it on a strut, through bolted to a burnwin mount. It's rock solid with just one mounting point and still allows for the seat to slide forward when I pull the engines up. Piped it overboard for a no mess clean-up. Couldn't have worked out any better. 20250115_141601.jpg20250115_141739.jpg

Nice job with the overboard drain; I’m trying to come up with something like that for my bait/ cleaning table but it has gaps in the back instead of drain holes. I may have to cut out 1/4 of a pvc pipe and mount it to the back/ bottom.

You could always fill in the gap and machine in some plastic drains. Although my old Nauti was a lot fancier, it was the two huge drains, the one piece construction and the high back on the West Coast one that sold it for me.

Mine is the 32” wide Nauti but it loses width with the side walls being inset to allow for tool holding slots on the outsides. The ruler is basically useless because it goes from outside edge to edge, not lined up with the inside edge of the side wall.

I think the design of the Westcoast version is superior for the above reasons as well as the drains.

If I had the tools and means I’d build one like the Westcoast Tackle model with an inside-the-walls width of 80 cm and the raised part 62cm wide. Of course the regs could change before I got to use it. Lol

I had the same issue with the Nauti.

Been doing a few updates and maintenance in the off season. Recently had my side bolsters redone at Fawcett Boat Covers in Parksville - they have been doing my canvas and side bolsters for several years now and always do a quality job. Also installed the Trollmaster speed control (wired version) for improving the speed control on my kicker - excited to give it a try. Last week went over the hull bottom paint...checked another one off the job jar list. Slowly getting closer to being ready to splash the boat and fish in the Sproat Lake Loggers Derby - staying at Eagle Nook Resort. Will be an epic time, and especially comfortable at the Resort.

Okay so this is a big one…

I bought a boat house! 30’er in Sidney BC.

Yes I realize my cream puff will need bottom paint and get a little dirtier faster than usual but I will go out 10x more in it and I feel like I got a great price on it as well and there’s some instant equity.
No more issues parking it at my house anymore.

I have a boat house and absolutely love it, keeps to boat clean and out of th weather. Just make sure you pull it often and clean her bottom and you will be fine. What Marina are you at Stizz?
