Installed my new mercury enteria prop then went fishing!

I lowered my tuna tube pumps to help maintain suction while the boat is at rest and increased the size of my bait tank drains.
We also picked up our first little Blue Marlin of the season.
We use live 3-5 pound tuna as baits somedays, Marlin and big yellowfin will inhale them.
I also picked up and installed a Garmin Inreach as there is no search and rescue.
One of the guys I fish with sometimes just drifted for 5 days after his alternator failed, without water or food and was luckily found alive by other commercial guys.

You've gotta read the book "438 days" about the fisherman Salvador Alvarenga

Today I tackled the last thing I had to do before we can weld this baby up. I cut my dash out. For whatever reason the dash in this boat was about 32” from window to front edge of the dash. I think maybe something to do with whatever computer equipment might have been on board? I’m guessing, but I removed a few random computer cables when I first got it. No one needs a dash that’s nearly 3’ deep but that’s all that makes sense to me. Anyways, going to shorten it 16- to 20” and weld it back in next weekend. Cabin walls are bent and ready and roof will be in the next few days too. Windows are delayed. Supposed to be 6 week wait but I’m coming into the 8th now. Frustrating but I don’t need them right now anyways. IMG_6594.jpegIMG_6602.jpegIMG_6600.jpegIMG_6603.jpegIMG_6604.jpegIMG_6607.jpeg

Lol. Not 100% sure why, all I know is It was built in 1991 by Raider aluminum boats and was originally a native commercial fisheries boat with an outboard jet on a jackplate. I was going to put a swim grid/pod but then it would’ve been way way too long for the width. Went with an actual splashwell and prop drive outboard and more or less normaled it up. It is, what it is but for less than $10k I had to buy itView attachment 93291View attachment 93292View attachment 93293
That's some nice welding there

I can take no credit. Original builder did some nice work and some ok work but the friend of mine welding the cabin is a pro. He’s built a number of boats and at least one barge and some really incredible custom stuff from jeep bodies to a giant aluminum wave/surf machine. I couldn’t do it without him.

Waaaaaay better! You will love that extra space you’ve saved. It will also make driving the boat more pleasant being up closer and better sight line for obstructions etc. well played!

Circular saw and aluminum....who knew eh? But once you know...and have a welder...it's awesome.

With the blades you can get today its the only way to go. I regularly cut up to 1/4 metal with my circular, so slick and smooth and fast.

My setup on our hourston exactly except my anchor is a bit rolled over on the port side due to an epic 2 knot impact into the mooring bouy in Killiam Bay.
Do you have a tie off cleat for the rode. I was wondering where to put mine as not a lot of room 82929EA9-6868-48ED-B6C9-288697BAB311.jpeg

You gotta zoom in but you'll see the cleats...and evidence of how often I forget to tie said safety line to the cleat hahaScreenshot_20230618_212244_Gallery.jpg
