What Did You Do To Your Boat This Week?

I’ve found I have to cut polish the green hull to get it to bead water and look good. I’ve tried other methods and waxing but this works the best for me.
I used the 3M today as well but the one for lighter oxidation. Think I will have to move up to the one you used the next time.

This week, repainting the deck, gunwales and seats plus installing a new compass.

The areas mentioned were all painted over 5 years ago as the diamond surface was pretty worn. Only the rear deck has been repainted. Time for a complete repainting.

The compass has lost some fluid and hung up last week while running through some rough water at Sandheads. Compass Can’t be re-filled except by authorized service shop, so I bought a new one, same model. Compass remains to be”boxed” (calibrated) at sea.

First step was scrubbing the deck with some corrosive deck cleaner, light sanding and then wiping down with a damp towel. Followed by the laborious job of applying masking tape. I did this in stages over 6-7 days. Painting was also done in stages. The Interdeck paint is very thick and contains grit in suspension, so it was a challenge to apply without it getting too thick (never dries) or streaky. Takes 24-48 hours for a coat to dry.

Worth doing, paint is not expensive, pretty time consuming. Photos show results from start to finish.

Treated the twin 5.9BTA 's on Nooma to 32 litres of fresh oil - 16 per side. Still need to do the genie. Also sanitized the freshwater tanks. 100 gal plastic tank with vinegar, the 60 gal aluminum with bleach. Rinse then rinse again.
Cheers, Ted

Because of a delay in when I can get my pieces in the shop to do the bends on my cabin walls, I decided to go ahead and cut the front window panels. Everything is slightly bigger than finished size to allow for “tweaking” it when roof goes on but I can see how it’s going to look. She’s no Barbie doll like a Kingfisher or Silver Streak but I think it’s going to be an awesome, heavy duty fishing boat.

Ignore that offset bow roller. It’s going away soon

You are getting there, just need some teeth and the Deathmobile stenciled on.
Kidding aside, the angles look good on the side of the cabin, nice work!

Why so skinny?

Why so skinny?
Lol. Not 100% sure why, all I know is It was built in 1991 by Raider aluminum boats and was originally a native commercial fisheries boat with an outboard jet on a jackplate. I was going to put a swim grid/pod but then it would’ve been way way too long for the width. Went with an actual splashwell and prop drive outboard and more or less normaled it up. It is, what it is but for less than $10k I had to buy itIMG_5567.jpegIMG_6092.jpegIMG_6094.jpeg
