It's the Red buoy off Point Grey-best on a flood tide but always worth a shot-fish are usually found 40-60 feet down.
If it's a tad lumpy see if it's worth your while to head over to the West Van side.

just keep an eye on the weather and winds in particular it can blow up pretty fast your not that far offshore that you could tuck into the shoreline and limp back anyway.
common sense is your best friend, but in saying that I've seen smaller boats then yours out there in some pretty rough water too.
Hey trendsetter. what is the deal with boats on the middle arm. i wasnt sure if they were allowed or not but another guy told me it can be done on the high tide. be alot quicker run for me and im sure alot less logs and debris

It can out of no-where. Like gidyup said, use common sense and you should be ok. One other piece of advice I would have is if you choose to fish the mouth of the cap river, be aware that there is a very strong current there especially on tide changes. It's going to be a gongshow fishing there this weekend!

Fished from 830-1630 today from the South Arm to T10 to QA to Burrard Inlet and only one pink for the effort , so I have to call this a off day for me, usually hit something worth it but not today ............ maybe need a good rain to bring the Springs in .... maybe next week.
The water was absolutly flat and able to travel both ways at 30+ MPH at 3900 RPM , it was a fast trip LOL !

Tough one out there today fish wise, brought home a few sox from Van Harbour, should have fished there the entire time I guess but I wasted time looking for Springs at the Mouth between North and T10. Only heard of a couple springs today, far cry from the other day. The Sox are nearing their end as they are really slimming up and getting a bit of colour to them. Zip for pinks but saw lots on the surface.
Oh well guests were happy none the less as thats fishing and it would be tough to get any calmer then it was today.

Did you find the sox in the same area where they've been between 2nd marker and the red can? I was going to try looking for springs on Friday morning at the North mouth to T-10 but might bomb over to the cap instead and give it a shot.
Yes and more into the Harbour.
45 to 70 feet, funny, saw a ton of pinks and thanks goodness we were not harassed by them. Still odd we didn't bang any Springs there, should have spent the entire day there I guess.
The Springs should be North Arm to South Arm -T10 and West Van any time soon more consistently.

You are absolutely allowed. However it is VERY shallow. Even 1-2 Miles out from the middle arm its only 6 or 7 feet at high tide. I have a 17' runabout and I don't even attempt it unless the tide is above 3m. I've been stuck out there twice when the tide was below 3m.
There is a channel, which I have marked in my GPS for medium tides. Always stay to starboard side when leaving the middle arm. About 50' from the edge off the airport island. As you exit the mouth head to port and towards the sandheads. About 1 mile out, if it's high tide (above 3m) you can turn and head towards the T-10 marker.
It saves me a good 25-30 bucks worth of gas when the tides coincide with my fishing times. Good luck out there. And don't bother if it's less than 3m at high tide.

Somehow I don't think he hit a "quad".....I am thinking the little punk had 4 hookups and landed 3.

no quad for me boys hahaha, hit the little one early and then had nothing until the bite came on around 4. boxed a nice one and then had a double header to finish of which we lost one next to the boat(only 2 of us on board).. all on anchovys/flashers skipping through the sand at 90'..

Best day I ever had locally was over a dozen big whites (lost count) from Atkinson to the Cap mouth. Most were over 2o lbs split between Anchovies and glow hoochies. That was a long ways back, nothing to compare with that locally in recent times. These days if you're getting 4 decent size springs in a day locally I'd say you're doing far better than most.

I disagree...catching black boot springs at the Cap hardly qualifies as skillful (sorry Demco--absolutely no disrespect intended towards hooking and bonking 3 springs). Vancouver locals, get yourself out there, drop your 'Chovies in the mud and away you go. If you have your troll dialed in and your have your course right ANYONE can go out there and catch 4 springs there on a given day. I'm not saying it's going to happen for everyone every day, but I am going to say that there are days that you will do just that. Some days you're hot, some not...and that goes for everyone, including me.

Eugene has moved on. Eddie still guides, not there though. Gary and Terry are still adding the regular dose of excitement. Definitely some younger blood around on the docks down there at Bonnie Lee. Saw Terry and Gary down there putting springs on the dock recently.
