Lots of interest here in having the derby but do we hold it on the Saturday or the Sunday. I do agree with Wolf, Mondays can be a long day at work after a hard day of fishing. <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle> I have been chatting with a few of the members up island (Courtenay/Campbell River/Alberni) and some of them are considering attending. What area's are we going to fish? Are we going to set any boundries? Where should we all meet afterwards for late lunch, bevies and to hand out prize money. Just looking for some opinions? I am more then willing to help organize this with complete input from the board.

I'm interested in participating. I've never Halibut fished. Anyone interested in a ride who has the gear and is really experienced? I'm willing to buy my own gear if I can get some expert advice. I have a 28 ft Grady which is a pretty comfortable ride. I'm coming from Vancouver where is a good Marina to berth in over night?

We're hoping to be hali fishing both days that weekend. We would either run from Sidney to Oak Bay each day, or tow our 2452 to Sooke or Becher for the weekend. If there's a derby, weather permitting, we'll be in it!
