Forgot to add one thought... regardless of what anyone thinks of the current SFAB and SFAC process.. atleast we have a process...lets ask the Atlantic province how its working for them right now...

Two things I find peculiar;

- All the guys whining about how it costs money to be a sport fisherman. If you can't afford it then don't do it. The govt is in favour of salmon farms an exploiting our resource via commercial mechanisms so I'm certain you can find seafood via alternative avenues.

- the people that say "go to a meeting", why? So I can say the same thing you are and not be heard... I think we should all acknowledge that the framework we are currently working within is flawed and requires an overhaul. Strategic lobbying as opposed to "meeting" is more valuable at this stage in the game.

If you go to the meeting then you can under stand what thoses who are involved are up against.... agee we need a lobbing perhaps it would be great if all groups came together and shelled out for the choosen one.... Got to ask how you do you think that for one minute you could change current system and the current halibut problem we face with only Victoria lobbing?I would think this is much bigger than just Victoria and perhaps should be looked at bring all groups together just not one... just my personal 2 bits

It is my understanding that SVIAC is fighting for all anglers in most situations. It is also my understanding that SVIAC intends to grow into a powerful province wide advocacy group, but needs to establish themselves and gain support in a smaller region first. It's like that old saying "never bite off more than you can chew". I don't believe it helps their growth to suggest they only "lobby" for Victoria.

I happened to tune in nice fish yesterday; I saw Chris Bos speak in an advertisement or public service anouncement?? for SVIAC as mentioned it’s a good time to get the ball rolling locally; further down the road the cause will gather steam spreading the word "we all should have equal rights to our natural resources"…

Wow here comes the stones aimed right at Victoria. Are you just mad that no one on her supports the decision your group made. Truth hurts look at the polls. By slamming us all down on here your losing credibility, and many of us a very involved and go to meetings.

If poor choices continue to be a thing I suggest the advisement process is flawed/ lacks creditability...It is in this case. It let all of us down. From someone who used to support this it plain sucks.

Actually I have no problem with what is going on ....losing creditability for what????....there is so much more going on here then you think...this is like a bean dip with many many many layers ...

Awesome that's why am a member I suggest all groups support our group .... The interest is to grow this not just in Victoria. Why can't we head in same direction? Screw stupid slots and more restrictions...Just for more TAC allocated. Caving in to DFO's wish every year is killing us.....

The poll did so far successfully show that generally the majority anglers are opposed to any slot restrictions, and more from what we had last year.That was the purpose of the poll. On the other poll yes/no to the recommendation by SFAB over 80% don't agree.... Do you think that is a good result.... That's why this process isn't working, and we need lobbying to satisfy everyone. The other alternative for us anglers is to break away from guides/lodges and businesses but that is not a good idea. I think we need to work together...

As have said before and I will say it again...most do not understand what goes on..... there are those that are learning and some that have learned ..there is some much more going on than what you see here..... open your eye's and your ear's & listen.... perhaps you will get it or understand.... like most things in life there is more going on than you think.....and for the rest of you that just don't get it .....you a just lemming that follow's the others and over the cliff you go.....
