good idea . On this project it would be nice if I could save a few “boatt” units of currency .Wait until Black Friday at harbour chandler if you can. Last year I saved a lot buying their deals online. I beleive I spent 2.4 boat units of currency but save 1.2 boat units
I have to agree with you.as mentioned i used the electric bennet tabs and will never run hydraulic tabs again, they are named the "bennet bolt" best tabs i have run
Yes snd I concur with Salmonkiller regarding Black Friday. Is this the one you’re talking about?

I would change it out if it is 33 years old while you have everything apart. You’re putting a lot of effort and money into your project , would be a shame to have to change it out in the next year or twoI pulled the fuel tank. Thought I may as well inspect and clean. Greasy mucky mess under the tank so I’m glad to clean that up.
The tank is 33 years old, still looks good but do you think it would be good to change it. Perhaps go a bit bigger as I do have the room now inboard is gone. This tank is 49 US gallons.
I’m waiting to get into the fiberglass shop. They say should be soon. They have a couple boats almost ready to go out.

I think 60 gallons would be good. According to my math, the same design tank would need to be 36.75” as current 49 gallon tank is 30” long.Change it out. Add capacity. Go with 3/16” material not 1/8”.
You’re right, the costs are going to start. I haven’t spent anything yet other than sweat labour. No real budget just willing to do what makes sense and is within reason. I know the costs on the main items and have ideas about extras so all good. Not sure what a new tank will cost but can be done by the guys doing the pod.Depends on the budget. If it looks good, I would personally leave it. It could be changed out later. The belly tank is not that complicated to pull out, obviously. Lots of costs ahead, still.
You don’t have to fill it completely on a normal day fishing but having the extra range when you’d like is very handy If you can push the tank back as far as your old engine mounts and then re-use them as mounting locations for the back of the tank. A sheet of material is 48” wide so your overall cost shouldn’t be much different.I think 60 gallons would be good.
